Pharmacists at Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets are offering FREE health screenings at 25 locations on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in an effort to help you live healthier lifestyles.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can receive FREE blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings with no appointment necessary.

In addition to screenings, pharmacists will be sharing tips on how to have a healthy summer such as how to take care of your skin in the sun, sunscreen recommendations, the importance of hydration and how to build a first aid kit.

Giant to offer FREE health screenings for customers

Talbot County Department of Emergency Services, Easton, Maryland is offering its FREE emergency planning response course to county citizens.

The spring 2019 Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) course will be presented as seven three-hour classes, at 6:30 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday beginning Monday, March 25, 2019 and conclude with a disaster exercise on Monday, April 15, 2019.

All class sessions will be held at the Talbot County Operations Center, 605 Port St., Easton, Maryland.

The CERT course is designed to help citizens prepare for and lessen the effects of a disaster in their community.

The 21-hour CERT course includes emergency preparedness, fire safety and suppression, emergency medical treatment, light search and rescue, and disaster psychology.

It also includes a final disaster exercise that enables participants to use the skills and knowledge they acquired during the course.
