NAMI Missoula (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in Missoula, Montana is offering a FREE 12-week seminar to inform and support people who have loved ones with a mental health condition.

You will learn about diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation and other resources.

The seminar begins Tuesday evening, Sept. 10, 2019.

Cascade County Disaster and Emergency Services, Great Falls, Montana will be offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training on April 24-26, 2019 (from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday).

The course is FREE, with beverages and snacks included throughout, and with lunch included on the first two days.

You will also receive a FREE, well-stocked emergency supply kit.

This class is designed to prepare you to safely help yourself and others in the event of an emergency or disaster that overwhelms first responders due to the size of the area affected, weather, lost communications, impassable roads, etc.

You are required to PRE-REGISTER for the course no later than March 31, 2019.

Through classroom instruction and hands-on exercises, you will learn about Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety and Utility Controls, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue Operations, CERT Organization, Disaster Psychology, and Terrorism and CERT.

The course concludes with a Course Review and Disaster Simulation Exercise.
