FREE admission by National Parks System and Washington State Parks in Washington State [#NationalParksSystem #WashingtonStateParks #AllThingsFREE]

To honor the 103rd birthday of the National Parks System, both the National Parks System and the Washington State Parks system are giving a gift: FREE admission.

Single-day visitors to any state park on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019 will not need a Discover Pass to park. The pass costs $30 a year or $10 for one day. The 2011 law that created the Discover Pass system also directed the state parks system to offer as many as 12 FREE days per year.

After this Sunday, 2 FREE state-parks days remain in 2019: Saturday, Sept. 28 (National Public Lands Day) and Monday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).

The City of Ocean Shores and North Beach School District in Washington State have announced summer programs that will offer something for all of the district’s nearly 700 students from grades 2-12.

All are offered for FREE to the students, and all that are based in the district will include bus transportation to the schools, and student team-prepared breakfasts and lunches.

Summer Fun at Ocean Shores Elementary School in Ocean Shores, Washington State, a joint project of the city and the school district, is open to students in grades 2-6 and will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 9-25.

Students will explore art, STEM, reading and writing and more, and take trips to:
1. Coastal Interpretive Center
2. Damon Point
3. Weatherwax Preserve
4. Quinault Rain Forest
5. Tacoma Rainiers baseball game
6. Opal Art Glass in Cosmopolis
7. Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge in Hoquiam and Tillicum Village on Blake Island in Puget Sound

A FREE two-day clinic will offer dental, vision and medical services in Walla Walla, Washington State.

Presented by Love Heals FREE Clinic, the event is Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds, 363 Orchard St., Walla Walla.

No appointments will be scheduled. You will be cared for on a first-come, first-served basis.

Medical professionals will be on hand to provide eye examinations with prescription and FREE glasses; dental fillings, cleanings and extractions; and general medical screenings, including diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid, dermatology, arthritis, mental health and women’s health screening and referrals (women can register for a mammogram screening). Also, massage therapy, chiropractic care, lifestyle counseling, and community resources will be offered.
