A generous pair of Scousers are offering FREE hot meals to the poorest of the city in an area they say has been forgotten.
Community worker Maureen Delahunty and caterer Peter Cooney have teamed up to open a “Scouse Kitchen” every Thursday at the Fazakerley Federation Center, Liverpool, England where they will be giving out hearty hot meals for FREE.
Maureen, from Walton, was inspired to start the project after seeing poverty spiral in the area following the role out of controversial benefits system Universal Credit.
The mom-of-two was already running a number of services at the center, but said the neighborhood was in desperate need of a food bank.
