The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office in Ohio will be offering FREE safe rides for people during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
According to Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will the initiative, called Arrive Alive, is an anti-drunken driving ride service being offered by his office’s outreach program.
The program’s model already has proved effective in Summit County by offering transportation alternatives to impaired drivers to keep them off the roads over the holidays.
“We’ve been looking at different ways to try to make it safer for the public. I know that we’ve been monitoring a couple other counties, and Cleveland did this over New Year’s. They’ve offered either cab rides, Lyft or Uber rides for people who want to get home safely because they think they may have imbibed too much.”
