FREE Tax Assistance – Creighton University – Omaha, Nebraska [#CreightonUniversity #FREETaxPrep] 03/28

This tax season Creighton University accounting students are helping those who need it file their taxes.

Dr. Tom Purcell, who’s Creighton’s accounting department chair has been involved in the program for nearly 40 years.

According to Tom Purcell, the IRS started the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or VITA program, to help people get their refunds.

According to Tom Purcell, that is exactly why he puts his students to work during tax season.

According to Tom Purcell, it helps the people who need it, and gives his accounting students some experience outside the classroom.

The service is open to those making $56,000 or less a year.

The following dates remain:
Saturday, February 22nd
9 am to 5 pm, Creighton University Harper Center, Rooms 3040 and 3042

Saturday, February 29th
9 am to 5 pm, Creighton University Harper Center, Ahmanson Ballroom

Saturday, March 21st
9 am to 5 pm, Creighton University Harper Center, Rooms 4052 and 4053

Saturday, March 28th
9 am to 5 pm, Creighton University Harper Center, Ahmanson Ballroom
