FREE flu shots offered before start of flu season by Riverside Health System and Sentara Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia [#FREEFluShots #RiversideHealthSystem #Williamsburg]

[October 12, 2019]

Riverside Health System and Sentara Regional Medical Center will provide FREE flu shots to you before the start of flu season.

Aacording to both Riverside Public Information Officer Peter Glagola and Sentara Director of Operations Stephen Payne, the goal of the FREE flu clinics is to reach people who might otherwise not be able to get a flu shot because of cost.

“This is one way we can get flu shots to people who normally don’t get a flu shot or cannot afford them.”
– Riverside Public Information Officer Peter Glagola

“It’s pretty good timing to get a flu shot September to October because our body … builds up the immunity within about four weeks, and it stays pretty good for three or four months. That would cover us pretty well during the flu season. We can reduce the amount of infection that spreads around and hopefully not impact the lives of the very young.”
– Dr. Jared Harrison, a doctor with Riverside Primary Care Norge
