EAA Chapter 631 (Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 631) will give FREE airplane rides for young people ages 8 to 17 at the Sawyer County Airport in Hayward, Wisconsin from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 23, weather permitting.

This is an opportunity for young people to experience the wonders of flight. A parent or guardian must accompany the child in order to sign a permission form.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7-8, 2019, Rehabilitation Services Department at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital, Hayward, Wisconsin will offer FREE developmental screenings for children ages 2 and 3 years old.

In recognition of Better Speech & Hearing Month speech therapist Connie Kelsey, physical therapist Leine Wollwert and occupational therapist Martha Cowan will conduct the screenings.

You will be asked to complete an ages & stages questionnaire, which will take about 10 minutes.

Therapists will then conduct the screenings and offer education on developmental norms and suggest age appropriate home activities for each child.

Each screening will take approximately 30 minutes and can be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Hospital to offer FREE development screenings May 7-8

Vallivue School District, Caldwell, Idaho will be offering FREE full-time kindergarten for students at 7 elementary schools in the fall after receiving additional funding from the legislature.

Students who are 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019, will be able to attend.

Expanded literacy funds from the legislature allow the district to hire more teachers, making full-time instruction possible.
